AboveBoard is actively assisting this confidential company to find its next Chief Marketing Officer.
Role & Responsibilities
The company is hiring a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to design and deliver a global marketing strategy that will lead our organization through its next phase of growth. You will establish and execute on the high-level marketing vision that positively impacts both our business and our customers. You will help to maintain our customer-centric culture as we grow by establishing new and scalable processes within the organization. You will also foster growth within the team; developing current employees and hiring new talent. As CMO, you will lead all facets of marketing and build the content & programming to bring our brand to life around the globe. You will build and drive the next iteration of our global marketing and brand strategy, with a strong focus on driving demand at the top of the funnel. We’re looking for a strategic, data-focused marketing leader who brings a track record of driving results success in a high-growth, startup environment.
What You’ll Do
- Create the Marketing Engine to Fuel Growth. Design and deliver a compelling marketing and brand strategy that positions the company as a thought leader and software of choice throughout the hospitality industry. Lead all aspects of the company marketing initiatives (including demand generation, brand, creative, product marketing, content/community marketing, communications/PR, and events) to support our revenue engine and help drive ARR to $100M+.
- Drive Demand. Partner closely with our CRO, Sales and Customer Success leaders to drive demand for 7R across the customer life cycle, and optimize the marketing roadmap to accelerate brand awareness and revenue-generating initiatives. Create strategies and campaigns, concepting, architecting and deploying omni-channel campaigns focused on awareness and conversion to sales and audience engagement.
- Brand Building & Storytelling. Drive the evolution of our brand story by bringing it to life in a clear and consistent way that resonates with and motivates hospitality operators around the globe. Oversee all outbound, customer-facing communications across our website, blog, white papers and social channels and promote the company as a leading innovator within the hospitality industry.
- Product & Customer Marketing. Create and own the go-to-market (GTM) strategy for products and features to attract new customers and drive adoption & value with our existing customer base. Represent the voice of the customer within the organization, bringing your customer & market insights to cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Sales, Design, Customer Success and Finance.
- Be a Cross-Functional Leader. Operate as a key member of the executive team. Collaborate with company leadership, product, sales, customer success and finance team to define strategic priorities, quarterly/annual milestones and corresponding forecasts and budgets. Possess the presence and intellectual strength to influence and align internal partners around marketing and go-to-market strategies in a product-led company. Build strong partnerships with leaders across the company to solve our toughest challenges and create seamless, cohesive experiences for our customers.
- Build & Scale the Global Marketing Team. Lead, mentor and grow an innovative, high-performing global marketing team across a broad set of functions, including product marketing, demand generation, content and brand.
- Live & Breathe Marketing Data & Insights. Define and measure 7R marketing KPIs for performance & success. Maximize ROI of marketing budget based on measurable results. Adjust strategy, campaigns and activities to deliver against KPIs. Provide ongoing reporting, develop actionable insights and continuously test new ideas and efforts.
- Define the Tech Stack: Optimize our marketing technology stack to fuel top of the funnel pipeline growth and bottom of the funnel analysis.
Who You Are
- Experience leading and scaling global SaaS Marketing teams, ideally for high-growth start-ups or technology companies (Series B, growth stage, IPO/acquisition, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of full marketing stack with deep expertise in demand generation.
- Strategic, yet hand-on leader who loves digging into data to understand the business, our wins and challenges, and leveraging these insights to create meaningful and impactful marketing initiatives that move the needle.
- Inside-out thinker that obsesses over 7R’s ICP, messaging and market positioning, and a proven ability to maximize our time and marketing budget to drive acquisition and expansion across these segments.
- Prior experience building brand positioning in a competitive market and winning market share from incumbents in the space.
- Strong understanding of inbound and outbound marketing for SMB, MM, and Enterprise.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively to leadership and Board.
- Entrepreneurial, strategic, action-oriented mindset; ability to roll your sleeves and dig deep to operate in an agile, fast-changing environment.
- Hands-on leader with a passion for coaching, inspiring and scaling existing teams to match and exceed company’s growth goals -- know your team and know the numbers with a growth mindset.
- Highly curious and quick learner who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative and fast-paced environment.
- Significant experience building compelling brand positioning and demand generation engines for B2B SaaS companies.
