Role and Responsibilities

The VP of Marketing is responsible for the strategic development and execution of the brand’s 360 retail marketing plan to drive client awareness and enhance consumer experience for omnichannel growth in North America. This position will oversee the successful execution of visual merchandising and event execution standards, as well as being a strategic driver and inspirational leader to deliver the best-in-class retail experience in the industry. This person will bring extraordinary competence and expertise in the retail environment and be deeply involved in growing/deepening the business at Sephora and expanding key retail partnerships while also strengthening the direct-to-consumer (D2C) platform. Additionally, the role will drive strategic revenue focused tactics while delivering on budget costs and recognizing efficiencies across marketing. The ideal candidate will exude excitement for entrepreneurship while also serving as a key liaison with cross functional leaders including with sales, brand and digital marketing, education, operations, and finance on all marketing programs to ensure seamless and timely execution. The right candidate will be a proactive leader with an entrepreneurial mindset, passion for beauty and a background in the digital D2C space.

‍Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead North America’s multi-channel 360 retail marketing program and develop comprehensive understanding of all key channel levers that increase visibility to drive awareness and sales.
  • Maintain and develop strategic relationships with key professional and retail partners.
  • Develop retail evolution strategy focusing on compelling in-store and online experience as key customer acquisition drivers.
  • Work with the brand and operations teams to provide accurate forecasts for new and core products.
  • Adapt brand materials for channel-specific needs; help develop, distribute, and manage brand content.
  • Develop trackable sampling programs for each professional/retail partner and oversee omnichannel sampling strategy.
Personal Qualifications:
  • 10+ years marketing, with experience in prestige skincare/beauty and specialty retail within North America, including Sephora; Asia experience a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or work equivalent.
  • Experience with digital-centric campaigns (social media, influencer, digital marketing).Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment and flexible to daily changes.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management/development skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in all MS Office Programs, including PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Breadth of experience developing integrated marketing campaigns, including earned, owned, and paid media, as well as a critical understanding of building a digital marketing ecosystem.
  • Strong business acumen including data management, attention to detail, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn and apply technical and product-related information in a professional, consultative manner.
  • Creative, seasoned marketer with exceptional relationship and project management skills and the ability to develop a team.
